Confessional Primer

  1. Prepare for Reconciliation with a personal examination of conscience.
  2. As you enter the Reconciliation room, choose to sit behind the screen for anonymity or sit face to face with the priest.
  3. Make and say the sign of the Cross.
  4. Tell how long it has been since your last Confession.
  5. Tell your sins to Father.
  6. Father will give you penance.
  7. Father will ask you to say the Act of Contrition.
  8. Father will give absolution.
  9. Father will say, “Go in peace.” Respond “Thank you”.
  10. Leave the Confessional and do your penance as soon as possible.
