We Pray to the Father
1st Week of Advent

Father, all-powerful and ever-living God, I give You thanks through Jesus Christ our Lord. When He humbled Himself to come among us as a Man, He fulfilled the plan You formed long ago and opened for us the way to salvation.

The Virgin Mother bore Him in her womb with love beyond all telling. John the Baptist was His herald and made Him known when at last He came. In His love He has filled me with joy as I prepare to celebrate His birth. When He comes, may He find me watching in prayer, my heart filled with wonder and praise.

I beg You grant me all the graces I need to be prepared for His coming to my heart and soul at Christmas. I ask in particular this favor: (mention your request).

In honor of the birth of Jesus, grant what I ask for the love Jesus, Your Son, has shown me in becoming man to save me, I beg Your holy will. Amen.

2nd Week of Advent

My divine Jesus, You became Man that man may become like God. In exchange for the humanity, which You take from us, You with to make us share in Your Divinity by sanctifying grace, that you may take complete possession of us.

Jesus, I believe that the greatest proof of God's goodness and love toward me is His gift to me of You. I celebrate Your birth and look to the mystery it brings me to be born anew with You and to live a new, divine life, more free from sin.

I beg You grant me all the graces I need to be prepared for Your coming to my soul at Christmas. (mention your request.)

In honor of Your coming birth, grant my request, for You are the Lord of Heaven and of earth, of all that was, is, and is to be. I beg you grant my prayer, if it be Your holy will. Amen.

Holy spirit, third Person of the Blessed Trinity, Spirit of truth, love and holiness, processing from the Father, and the Son, we adore You and we love you.

Make me a faithful disciple of Jesus and an obedient child of Your Church. Give me efficacious grace sufficient to keep the Commandments and to receive the Sacraments worthily. Fill me with Faith, Love, Charity and Hope.
